Charlie is no strange face to the Voiceworks team. Charlie has appeared in Voiceworks’ productions of OLIVER!, Joseph, My Fair Lady and West Side Story, while also helping out behind the scenes in our junior productions!! Charlie has also been helping in the Saturday Performing Arts School with singing for the last two years.
Currently studying Drama at Queens University Belfast and working towards his Singing Diploma in Musical Theatre, Charlie is no stranger to performing. Before musical theatre took over his life (in a good way), he achieved Grade 7 in Euphonium while also playing with the Education Authority’s award winning Youth Concert Band. Having played with this band for 7 years, Charlie gained the opportunity to tour Germany and help train budding young performers in the ways of music. On top of instrumental performance, Charlie is also no stranger to the Belfast scene, having been a part of Belfast Music and Drama Society’s ‘Les Miserable’ alongside the wonderful Niamh Doherty and NISMAT’s ‘Aladdin’. However, most roles have been through Voiceworks; Mr Brownlow (OLIVER!), Naphtali (Joseph), Professor Zoltan Karpathy (My Fair Lady) with the most recent being Diesel in West Side Story.
As Charlie is studying Drama at Queens, with a view to teach younger generations the magic that thrives in singing, acting and dancing; he is absolutely thrilled to have a part of the Voiceworks team!!
